Theme- Letter "B"
Objective- Explore many fun things that begin with "B". Recognize a capital "B" & learn the sound it makes.
Choosing Time- Balls (Making Baskets), Bear Puzzles, Bear, Bugs, & Blocks
We took turns blowing through our own straws into the paint and catching the bubbles onto paper. I demonstrated to show how the bubbles were being made through our air from blowing into the straw. It was fun to do & fun to talk about.
Lesson- I showed the class a letter "B". We practiced drawing it in the air while making its sound. I asked them to tell me some things that start with the "B" sound. "Ball, balloon, bike, blue, banana, bear, bug, bubbles," were a few of their responses.
Super Snack Helper- Raeanna brought a fun mix of pretzels & goldfish crackers.Thank you Rae!
Grayce noticed that her pretzel looked like an "A".
Mitch made an "L" out of his pretzel.
Science- We did 3 Science experiments today. Ask your children what happened.
1) We added Blue food coloring to milk & then added dish soap.
2) In a bowl we added yeast, water, & sugar...some did not believe that their mom makes bread with these :)
3) I attempted to blow up a balloon attached to a string & a straw to demonstrate the power of air. I failed miserably...hopefully my kids can help me perfect it today so we can try it again on Thursday.
Movement & Music- Bubble Gum Rap Song (See if they can show you the moves for the chorus-Bakooka-zooka bubble gum)
Writing- We practiced making "B" in our workbooks. Please praise your kids for doing such a great job! Sadly, a few of us were a little discouraged with our "B's" today and need lots of praise! I expressed how difficult learning to write is. I also told each of them what a great job he/she did!
Game- Keep the Balloons in the Air & Hit the Balloons over the String
