Theme: Pilgrims
Choosing Time: Lincoln Logs & Peg Boards

Snack: Thank you Rae for some yummy popcorn! I am sorry that it all didn't pop. I think something may be wrong with my microwave...
Lesson: Hopefully your children will be able to answer some of these questions.
- What is a Pilgrim?
- What was The Mayflower?
- When the Mayflower sailed back to England how many Pilgrims went with it?
- If the Pilgrims were hungry, why didn't they just go catch some fish or deer?
- How many days did the First Thanksgiving last?
I enjoyed our Pilgrim discussion today. We all learned something new. Some of us thought we'd choose to go back to England too. We learned that the Indians blessed the lives of the Pilgrims.
Recess: It has been so nice outside and so I can't resist some outdoor play:)
Art: We made Pilgrim Paper Dolls ( AKA
puppets)

Music & Movement: A pilgrim rendition of
Row, Row, Row Your Boat. In pairs we rowed across the sea in hopes of liberty.
Thankful Board: Spencer brought the word Family to put on our board :) We all agreed that families are important! I added a picture of Pilgrims. I am thankful for their example of bravery and courage.
Science: Sink Or Float? I put a box with various items in it. The children could test them in a tub of water to see if they would float or sink. They then would put them in a corresponding bucket. This was a fun activity. Not only were we surprised by some of the results, but we also practiced sorting and identifying that just because something is heavy doesn't mean it will sink. Here are some of the items we tested. Which ones do you think floated or sank? You may be surprised :)
- Grape Tomato
- Bunch of Grapes
- One Grape
- Celery stalk
- Potato
- Pumpkin
- Rubber Ball
- Pine-cone
- Pear
- Apple
- Plastic Pastry Brush
